Not the biggest online casino name in the UK – but that doesn’t mean anything really. Lots of good casinos hide under the radar.
But is Playzee actually legit or not? Do they offer something that’s actually good?
Read on and by the end of this Playzee Casino review you’ll know a lot more about them.
1. Is Playzee legit?
Playzee first launched in 2018 and is one of the many online casinos of White Hat Gaming. White Hat Gaming are a casino platform operator. This means they operate a number of different online casino sites at the same time.
White Hat Gaming is privately owned so they are not on any stock market. This isn’t a particularly bad thing. It’s just that public companies need to be a bit more transparent.
However, there’s nothing to suggest White Hat are anything but legitimate, especially considering how long they’ve been running online casinos.
To operate Playzee and their other casinos in Great Britain, White Hat have a licence from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC). They enforce strict regulations to ensure a safe and fun environment for players.
They are not afraid to issue fines when problems occur either. For example, White Hat were hit with a £1.3m fine in January 2021 by the UKGC.
2. Customer support
Can you get help easily at Playzee when you need it?
You can contact them via Live Chat, 24/7. This means you won’t have to wait long for a reply to any of your questions.
Playzee are also available to contact via email. This is usually better for providing documents – such as when you verify your account or want to report any bugs or errors.
Along with this, there is an FAQ section for answers to common problems.
With that being said, what’s on paper doesn’t always translate into practice. As you’ll see below, Playzee have quite a bad reputation with some players.
3. Bonuses & free spins (what can you get?)
New players at Playzee will get a first deposit bonus of 100% up to £300 + 100 Spins. The spins are distributed in batches of 10, daily for 10 days.
A few things, however, stand out about this promotion.
The big one is the high wagering requirements.
The 35x looks reasonable at first. But it’s for the bonus amount plus your deposit amount. This is really not great.
Let’s say you deposit £20 and get a £20 bonus. Most casinos just make you wager the bonus amount. So in this case, that would be £700 (£20 x 35).
But at Playzee you need to wager both the deposit amount and the bonus amount. So that makes it £1400 (£40 x 35).
As you can see, this changes the wagering requirements from difficult to basically impossible unless you are incredibly lucky.
We get that casino bonuses don’t usually win and you shouldn’t expect to make money from them. But this is ridiculous. We’d be amazed if anyone managed to win anything from this offer – ever.
Dealbreaker? View our MrQ Casino review where there’s never any wagering requirements.
One good thing is that Playzee have a lot of games from several developers. So at least you can use the bonus money on a wide variety of slots.
4. Payment methods
Playzee has a good number of payment methods for UK players:
They accept the major ones like Visa, MasterCard, Skrill, and Neteller. But you can also use Apple Pay, MuchBetter, Paysafecard and more.
Perhaps the best one though is PayPal. Paying by PayPal at Playzee is very quick and safe. It’s also another good indicator that Playzee is credible and trustworthy. PayPal doesn’t partner with dodgy gambling sites.
Nearly all of these methods allow both deposits and withdrawals. In general, e-wallets like PayPal, Skrill or Neteller are faster for withdrawals.
But every withdrawal request at Playzee must be approved first. This may require extra verification to take place which may take a while.
5. What do Players think of Playzee?
A great way to find out about a casino is to read online reviews.
Users on TrustPilot have already left a few reviews for Playzee – but it’s not great viewing:
We can see that Playzee have a rating of ‘poor’.
Over 80% rated the experience as bad too:
However, remember that most reviews online are complaints. Also, as Playzee is an online casino, they are likely to attract negative comments.
For example, one customer complained that they didn’t win anything:
They suggested that Playzee is a scam and needs reporting to the Gambling Commission.
The problem? Playzee is thoroughly vetted by the Gambling Commission already. Part of this includes making sure that the games are fair. They are also tested by independent auditors for fairness.
Of course, the games give Playzee a house edge – but this is normal at casinos and NOT cheating. You should never expect to win at a casino. It’s meant for fun and entertainment only.
Another player complained about breaching rules, likely while using the bonus:
We spoke above about how Playzee’s bonus terms and conditions are very harsh. So it’s likely the player didn’t read the terms and did breach one of the rules.
Again, although we can’t say anything good about the bonus terms, they are the rules.
Playzee Casino review summary
Overall, it is fair to say that Playzee is legit and not a scam. They’re owned by a very large casino platform and share many features in common with those other sites.
Some of the reviews online are scathing. For the bonus terms, we agree. However, some complaints are unfortunately just part and parcel of playing at online casinos.
Some of the more positive points were:
- 24/7 customer support
- PayPal payments
- Lots of slots & games
